Local police get tools to fight gangs

DAVIS COUNTY— Davis County residents who believe the gang problem only exists in Salt Lake and Weber counties are wrong.

They are here, and the numbers are growing.

Several Davis County law enforcement agencies sent officers to the recent Utah Gangs Conference hosted by the Unified Police Department and the Salt Lake Area Gang Project and they say they came away with additional tools to fight the problem here in Davis County.

Two of those who attended spoke with the Clipper about gangs in Davis County. Because of the nature of their work, they both asked their names not be used.
