KAYSVILLE - Davis High School’s marching band has big plans for the new year next year. They’ll be heading to Pasadena, CA., for the Rose Parade on Jan. 1, 2013 after receiving an invitation from the Tournament of Roses Committee. This will be the second appearance for DHS, the first being in 2003.

One band from each of 15 regions is invited, and DHS competed against bands from eight other states to earn the spot.

“Our kids are about as excited as you can get,” said Steven Hendricks, band director, who also led the group that marched 10 years ago.

He anticipates a group of 300 for the 2013 parade.
