CENTERVILLE -- Pipes are lined up on the property where every day more than a dozen oversized trucks plow dirt around to prepare the ground for Wal-Mart, which may open as soon at next June in Centerville. R&O construction will have a meeting with Wal-Mart at the end of next April for a building review, according to Cory Snyder with the city planning commission. Meanwhile, the big box retailer has received all the required approvals and building permits from the city.

"The process was complex. Both parties had arguments that were weighed and ultimately Wal-Mart was approved," said Snyder.

Wal-Mart officials have worked with Centerville city for the past year to bring their to-be Wal-Mart up to speed with Parrish Lane guidelines.

Wal-Mart officials are calling the big box store a phase four type of building.

"Compared to the standard Wal-Mart store this is one of their higher end stores," said Snyder.

Kari Anne Fallow, spokes-person for Wal-Mart, said the big box retailer plans to begin the hiring process four to six months before the store's opening.
