LAYTON -- The annual "Taste of the Town" and Riders in the Sky concert is returning, again Tuesday, as part of Layton's annual Pioneer Day activities.

Taste of the Town is sponsored by the Davis Chamber of Commerce. It features a wide range of restaurants, including several new entries this year.

For $6, participants can wander through the Layton Commons' Park area near the Ed Kenley Amphitheater, sampling from dozens of food and drink items.

This year, 24 eateries are participating. They include: Golden Corral, House of Brews, Lone Star, Maverik, Costco, Marie Callender's, Melina's, Outback, Rovali's, Bajio, Corbin's, Davis Hospital, UTA, My Best Friend's Kitchen, Mimi's, WildFlour, Carver's Kitchen, Popcorn Cottage, Holy Smoke BBQ, McGraths, MacCools and Dream Dinners.

Then, at 8 p.m., Riders in the Sky will perform a free concert, in what has become a tradition spanning nearly a decade.
