LAYTON -- There are 15 cities in Davis County. Can you name them all? Whether you can name all 15 cities or not, you can enhance your understanding of your hometown and your county by attending the Davis Chamber's Annual Mayors Luncheon on April 17 at the Castlebrook Reception Center in Layton. The Mayors (or their representatives) from all 15 Davis County cities will be on hand to review their city's accomplishments from the past year and outline their goals and plans for the coming year. This is traditionally the largest luncheon of the year for the Davis Chamber of Commerce since it addresses countywide issues ranging from crime control to economic development to transportation to taxes. It is a convenient way to learn about your town and its neighbors from those who are formulating the policies and making the plans. Plan now to attend and to be better informed. Call the Davis Chamber of Commerce at 801-593-2207 to confirm your reservation.

SEED bash being held at WSU

OGDEN -- The Stimulating of the Expansion of Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) is holding a SEED bash Thursday, April 3, 2008.

The bash will be held at the Weber State University's main campus in the Alumni Center.

The program, which has three counties involved including Davis, Weber and Morgan, is specifically designed to implement strategies that will increase the overall momentum in the region for entrepreneurial development.

The goal of SEED is to help the region's economy by helping businesses grow in the counties involved in the program.

"We want to raise the awareness to the public that we are here," said Jeremy Kartchner, spokesperson for the program and a member of Grow Utah Ventures. "We are letting the public know what the benefits are for this program."
