In response to that need, as well as its overall mission to sustain a vibrant economy, the Davis Chamber is pleased to sponsor the 2008 Northern Utah Business and Economic Summit. The Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce is an event co-sponsor. This business-building seminar will be presented Wednesday, April 23, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Davis Conference Center in Layton. The goal of the event is to provide Northern Utah businesses the tools, expertise and knowledge they will need to achieve a strong rate of growth through the coming year.
The event begins with a networking breakfast, then moves into six valuable panel discussions featuring rapid-fire exchanges between noted experts from a wide variety economic issues.
Panel topics will include a baseline report for the Economic Outlook of 2008, Aerospace and Composite Technology Development, a Northern Utah Economic Development Plan, the Business Park Development, the SEED Program for Weber-Davis-Morgan coun-ties, and Transportation Alternatives to Meet Expected Growth.
Nationally noted economic futurist Jeff Thredgold (Zions Bank) will be the keynote lunch speaker. Thredgold has informed and entertained Fortune 500 business gatherings around the country. His presentation alone makes this a first-rate event for any business or individual looking to succeed in 2008.
The day concludes with six business break-out sessions on topics relevant and resonant to Northern Utah. The final two sessions are free to the public:
