HILL AIR FORCE BASE -- Hill Air Force Base employees contributed more than $1 million to the Intermountain Combined Federal Campaign in 2007.

Intermountain CFC, the charitable fund-raising vehicle for federal employees raised a record high $2.5 million for charitable causes from federal employees in Utah, western Colorado, southeastern Idaho and Wyoming, the organization said late last week.

"Our goal for 2007 was to raise $2,450,000, but the generous federal workers in our region sailed right past that mark and exceeded everyone's expectations," said Col. Anne Davis, commander at the Tooele Army Depot and the 2007 chair of the local coordinating committee for CFC.

HAFB employees led contributors. Other top contributing agencies include the Internal Revenue Service, with nearly $400,000, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, with nearly $150,000, and the U. S. Postal Service, with $146,000.

The CFC is the nation's largest workplace charity drive. The campaign enables military and civilian federal workers to support charitable causes of their choice via payroll deduction or cash donation.

Since 1996 the local CFC has raised more than $22.5 million for health and human welfare. For more information, please go to www.opm.gov/cfc.
