DAVIS COUNTY -- The Soroptimist International Club is looking for applicants for the Women's Opportunity Award.
The award was established in 1972 to aid the mature woman to enter or re-enter the job market or to further her skills and training and to upgrade her employment status.
An applicant should show she is motivated to improve her skills and qualifications, can accept responsibility, is the head of her household or has a family financially dependent on her, shows financial need and/or a need for additional training or is completing an undergraduate degree.

WSU celebrates commencement
BOUNTIFUL -- Weber State University will be awarding degrees at its winter commencement ceremony Dec. 17.
WSU's business school and its six other academic colleges will confer all degrees and certificates during on inclusive ceremony.
Clayton M. Christensen, professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School, will deliver the keynote commencement address and receive an honorary degree from Weber State.
"Putting Students Through," a program honoring parents, spouses and friends of graduates will begin at 9 a.m., and the commencement ceremony will follow at 1 p.m.
