Gate changes set

HILL AFB -- For security reasons, there will be changes made to some of the gates at Hill Air Force Base. Beginning Jan. 22, the East gate will be open for inbound traffic only, 5:30-7:30 a.m., weekdays. Use of the East gate will benefit most of those traveling west on State Road 193.

The South gate will have one less gate open for inbound traffic to support staffing of the East gate. The Southwest gate will stay open and is best accessed by those traveling east on S.R. 193.

The Roy gate will be open for inbound traffic only, 4-8 a.m., weekdays.

The West gate has the slowest entrance times due to local traffic congestion.

Program connects

HILL AFB-- The new "Friends and Family Instant messenger" program now makes it easier for deployed Airmen to keep in closer contact with loved ones.

Users can chat online with non-Air Force friends and family members.

Previously, the portal was limited to chat between Airmen and civilian employees.
