WOODS CROSS -- Utah State University Extension and the Utah House in Kaysville present a day-long seminar "Design Your Dream Kitchen" Saturday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Taught by USU Extension agents and specialists, the seminar will cover all aspects of design: evaluating and selecting appliances and materials, working with contractors, storage, energy conservation, accessibility and budgeting. This is a great workshop for anyone getting ready to remodel, build new, or just spruce up an existing kitchen. Avoid costly mistakes by learning the basics first.

A $45 registration includes lunch. Seating is limited. Registra-tion deadline is June 8. Participants will receive a pre-workshop packet to help create accurate measurements of their existing or future kitchen. One hour of college credit is available through Utah State University Continuing Education for an additional $15. Scholarships offered for CNA training

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, in partnership with Chase will grant 20 scholarships in 2005 to qualified applicants for training in the Nurse Certified Assistant Training (CNA) program. Twelve scholarships are available now with another eight opening in October.

CNAs work in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. The cost of the course is $370. For information on the scholarships, call 801-323-7000 or go to www.utahredcross.org.
