Davis county residents are invited to a multiple sclerosis event, Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m., at the Grand America Hotel, featuring author and motivational speaker Jackie Waldman.

Best known for the series "The Courage to Give" featured on Oprah, Waldman will speak to people with the disease, which affects more than 400,000 in the U.S., alone. During the free event, Waldman will emphasize the importance of taking responsibility for one's life mentally, spiritually and physically, and how to find meaning in life through giving. Hygienist of the year

Woods Cross resident Lisa King recently received The Utah Dental Association Hygienist of the Year award. King, a dental hygienist for Bountiful doctor Craig Mattinson, received the honor after being nominated by her peers.
