The Darts defense was so good that Northridge didn't break five points until 3:30 left in the second quarter. Davis pushed their lead to 16-5 with two straight inside buckets from Hewlett.
Northridge was able to finally crack the tough Dart defense and make a few shots before the half to cut into the Davis lead, 16-11. Despite completely outplaying Northridge, Davis was able to take only a five-point lead into the half.
Northridge made some adjustments at halftime and came out working the ball down low. A terrific inside move and basket by Northridge's Katie Casteel cut the Dart lead to 16-14. Davis pushed the lead back to nine with nine points from Dunford, who shot 100 percent from the free-throw line in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter continued to go Davis' way. Northridge simply couldn't get enough inside scoring to stay competitive. Due to their height disadvantage Northridge was forced to foul the Darts when they got the ball down low.
That is when the Darts really put the game away. Hewlett led the way from the free-throw line by going six-for-six and grabbing several clutch rebounds. Dart Kasey Day had a great lay-up to put the Darts up 38-27.
After a Northridge three-pointer pulled the Knights within five points at 40-35, Davis iced two more free throw to secure the victory.
Next up for the Lady Darts is a tough region contest against at home against Clearfield.
