All Davis teens invited to leadership summit

LAYTON -- The Davis County Youth of Promise will hold its annual Leadership Summit on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Northridge High School, 2430 N. 400 West, Layton.

"This is our annual 'Make a Difference Day' event," said summit coordinator Brett Lund. "It's a great opportunity for our youth to become a part of 'making a difference' in their community."

The full-day event offers learning and service opportunities for youth, 7-12 grades. All youth in the county are invited and encouraged to attend. Scheduled agenda for the 2004 Summit includes:

-1-2 p.m.: Registration, check-in

-2-3:00 p.m.: Keynote Speaker: Brad Barton, a local and national motivational speaker. (see www.bradbartonspeaks.com.)

-3-3:10 p.m.: Break, snacks

-3:10 - 4:00 p.m.: Service Project #1

-4-5:00 p.m.: Learning sessions #1

-5-6 p.m.: Dutch-oven dinner, activities

-6-7 p.m.: Performer

-7-8 p.m.: Learning session #2

-8-9 p.m.: Service Project #2

-9-11 p.m.: Dance

Registration is only $5 and includes a summit T-shirt, dinner and the full-day activities. Registration forms are available at all junior high and high schools in the County and the Family Enrichment Center, Kaysville.
