Hemstitched Heirlooms opens
BOUNTIFUL -- Hemstitched Heirlooms is having a Grand Opening Celebration Thursday, Sept. 15, through Saturday, Sept. 17, at Colonial Square.
Hemstitched Heirlooms is the creation of Shannon Rayl and her husband Chris. It began in a Bountiful, two-bedroom apartment in 1994, then moved to a home in West Bountiful. The budding company had been selling its wares to Mac's Hobbies & Crafts. But, when Mac's closed, the Rayls decided to open up their own retail shop in Colonial Square.
The shop offers hemstitched baby items for customers to crochet with a decorative edge. It has receiving blanket sets, burp cloths, snap bibs and pull-over bibs.
"You can buy right off the shelf, or, if you prefer, you can choose your own fabric and have it custom made," said Shannon. "We will be offering knitting and crocheting classes as well."
