Invest in business success
by Chris Dallin

CENTERVILLE -- The Davis Chamber of Commerce is the premier business organization in Davis County.
As the second largest chamber in the state, the Davis Chamber supports and promotes business growth, which in turn is a commitment to the growth and prosperity of the entire area.
With a membership in this progressive, proactive organization you will enjoy the benefits of networking and referrals, educational opportunities, business growth opportunities, having a resource center and a voice at the state Legislature.
Each month the chamber makes more than a hundred referrals. As a chamber member, your name is referred to people requesting information about the area. Opportunities for networking and business growth are also available through our Monthly Luncheons, Business After Hours, Weekly Leads Lunch, Women in Business and Breakfast Club.
Educational and resource opportunities are offered at forums through our partnerships with Workforce Development, Weber State University and the Davis Applied Technology College. We also have seminars and lectures through our Leadership Institute, monthly Women in Business meetings and our annual Northern Utah Business and Economic Summit.
Your business has a government advocate through the Chamber Legislative Affairs Committee. The chamber lobbies to protect the business community. Last year the chamber was 100 percent successful in its lobbying efforts with issues at the Legislature. The chamber works on issues with cities, the county, state and national government.
Your investment in the chamber is an investment in the success of your business.

Chamber billing explained
CENTERVILLE -- Due to some apparent confusion over the chamber's billing policy, members of its staff and board of directors decided to offer a few words of explanation.
If you R.S.V.P. for an event and do not attend the event you will be billed. If you can't make a chamber event for which you have R.S.V.P.''d, you must cancel within the chamber at least 24 hours prior to the event. Those submitting cancellations on the day of the event will be billed.
The chamber has to give a count of those expected to attend to the business that is hosting the event 24 hours prior to the gathering. The number the chamber gives to the host is the number it will be billed for.
If you have any further questions regarding chamber policy please contact any staff member or a member of the board. The chamber office number is 295-6944.
