KAYSVILLE -- The time capsule enclosed in the Kaysville city clock tower may soon be marked by a brass plaque placed nearby to inform future generations of the date it was set there and the date it should be opened. On July 4, 2000, city officials held a ceremony celebrating the memorial. The time capsule was set in the tower, but no marker was placed at that time. Some citizens have expressed concern to council member Lynn Galbraith, who has endeavored to make sure the capsule will not be forgotten throughout the years. He hopes that by placing the plaque, city officials will remember to open the capsule on July 4, 2025, and replenish it with treasures from that year to be rediscovered in 2050.

Galbraith sought approval from the mayor and his fellow council members to purchase the plaque and set a date for opening at Tuesday's council meeting.
