'How to Operate an ADHD Kid'

FARMINGTON -- That's the title of a new workshop being offered by the Davis School District and CHADD, Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder. Presenter Clare Jones, of Phoenix, Ariz., will come to present a two-hour workshop, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 7 p.m. in the district office, 75 E. 100 North, Farmington, the Kendall Build-ing.

The free event is open to parents of children with ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

Jones will also present half-day workshops to principals and administrators one day and to Class Act directors another.

Dr. Jones is a diagnostic specialist in private practice. She is the former Director of Education for the Phoenix Children's Hospital, is a former classroom teacher, and taught every level of special education from preschool through high school.

She will present methods and insight into coping, helping and motivating people with ADHD.

Jones has been named Council of Exceptional Child-ren's Teacher of the Year and Master Teacher of the Year in 1985.

Jones is the author of seven books and several articles on teaching children and adults with special needs.

She received the CHADD Hall of Fame Award 2002 for her work with children with attention disorders.

In Dec. 2002, she also received the Gratitude Award from the Casey Family Pro-gram for her work with foster children.
