Stoddard throws perfect game; Bountiful wins 14-0

BOUNTIFUL - Bountiful’s Belle Stoddard pitched a five-inning perfect game, and the Lady Braves softball team scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to mercy-rule Highland in a 14-0 win.

Stoddard was just as impressive at the plate, hitting a double as part of the Lady Braves 13-hit onslaught of Highland. Of Bountiful’s 13 base hits, six of them went for extra bases. Christy DuBois hit a pair of doubles to lead the team as the Braves turned a five run lead into a 14 run lead after the fourth inning.


Wildcats lose lead, game to Leopards

Holding a 2-1 lead early, Woods Cross allowed East to score single runs in the bottom of the third, fourth and fifth innings to give the Lady Leopards the early Region 6 win, 4-2.

Despite pitching well, Madi Toner took the loss for the Wildcats, who scattered five hits and committed two errors to go along with their two runs.

 Lady Darts score six runs in seventh, win 9-3

With the game tied at 3-3, the Davis Lady Darts scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning in order to run away with a 9-3 win over the Bengals. Makenna O’Brien smashed a double and Cheyenne Mosset collected three hits for the Darts, who as a team had seven hits. O’Brien also picked up the win inside the circle.

Upcoming games

Following the perfect game by Stoddard, the Lady Braves will travel to Cyprus Tuesday afternoon. Woods Cross will look to rebound from its loss by hosting Layton onThursday, and Davis will host the Viewmont Vikings on Thursday afternoon as well. All games are set to start at 3:30 p.m.
