LAYTON — Layton Police arrested an 18-year-old man Friday evening after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female masseuse at knifepoint.

Martin William Rodriguez was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, after he allegedly confessed to police.

Rodriguez entered Bejing Massage, 26 N. Main, in Layton, about 6:30 p.m. on Friday and asked for a massage, according to Layton Police Lt. Shawn Horton.

When he was alone with the female masseuse, he allegedly pulled out a large kitchen knife and sexually assaulted the woman.

Another female employee knocked on the door during the alleged assault and asked if everything was OK.

When the victim responded “no,” Rodriguez allegedly stopped and put his clothes back on, Horton said. The parlor’s staff was able to detain Rodriguez until police arrived. The victim was not injured by the knife, Horton said.

Rodriguez has no previous convictions for sexually assault and is not registered as a sex offender, Horton said.
