Darts, Vikings, Wildcats win big in region play

WOODS CROSS – The Davis, Viewmont and Woods Cross high school softball teams all picked up wins last Thursday.

In Region 1, the Lady Darts crushed Northridge 16-5 and the Vikings ran over Weber 18-3.

In Region 6, Woods Cross scored 20 runs in a 20-4 rout over Kearns, and Bountiful lost a close game to East 3-1.

Lady Darts crush Knights, 16-5

Davis scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and seven more in the third inning to help the Lady Dart crush Northridge 16-5 in Region 1 play.

The Darts hit four home runs in the game, led by Leilani Moon’s two. 

Viewmont crushes Weber in six inning, 18-3 win

The Lady Vikings only needed six innings to dispatch the Weber Warriors last Thursday, scoring 18 runs in a 18-3 victory.

Caitlyn Larsen hit two home runs and Amanda Varley, Madison Durrant and Riley Tyteca each hit a home run.

Wildcats maul Cougars 21-4

Woods Cross scored 20 runs in the first two innings of last Thursday’s softball game against Kearns.

The result was a 21-4 win over the Cougars that ended in three innings.

Woods Cross had 13 hits as a team and committed just one error.

Bountiful loses to Leopards, 3-1

East scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning of last Thursday’s game against Bountiful to pick up a 3-1 victory over the Lady Braves.

Bountiful scattered six hits and scored its only run of the game in the sixth inning.

Beka Mamea hit a double for Bountiful.

Games this week

Davis will travel to Fremont to face the Silverwolves and Bountiful will go to Kearns to face the Cougars Thursday afternoon.

Viewmont will play a non-region game against Manti Friday at home.
