KAYSVILLE – The Davis Darts boys’ basketball team won their 11th straight game last Friday after taking down Northridge 52-29 at Davis High School.
In Region 6 action, both Bountiful and Woods Cross won their respective region games, remaining unbeaten in region play before Tuesday night’s game.
Bountiful beat East 66-52, and Woods Cross beat Cyprus 71-47.
Darts win 11th straight, beat Knights 52-29
The Darts had a missing piece on the floor when the starting lineup was announced Friday night against Northridge High School.
But after some initial adjustments were made, the Darts turned a tight ball game into a blowout in a 52-29 win over the Northridge Knights.
For Davis, it marks the team’s 11th straight victory. Northridge has lost both of its opening region games.
Abel Porter scored 21 points and had five rebounds and three assists for Davis. Elijah Kletzli was two points shy of completing a double-double, scoring eight points with 11 rebounds.
Matt Morrell scored 13 points and had six rebounds in the win.
Braves win sixth straight, stay unbeaten in Region 6 after 66-52 win over East
Bountiful picked up its third Region 6 win in as many games last Friday after taking down the Leopards at East High School.
The Braves defense held the Leopards to 10 points or less in each of the first three quarters, and built a 49-27 lead by the end of the third quarter.
Jeff Pollard led all scorers with 22 points, and Zac Seljaas scored 14 points for the Braves in the win.
Sam Merrill, Trevor Lloyd and Jordan Bleak each scored eight points for the Braves.
Wildcats maul Pirates in 71-47 win
The Wildcats won their second region game Friday night after taking down the Cyprus Pirates Friday night on the road.
Woods Cross took a small 25-22 lead at the half, then exploded offensively by scoring 28 points in the third quarter to help the Wildcats run away with the game.
Luke Jowers scored a game-high 20 points in the win, and was one of three players to score in double figures.
Xequille Harry scored 14 points, and Garret Grant scored 18 points.
Travis Howey pulled down 10 rebounds and had six points for the Wildcats.
Games this week
The Vikings will remain at home after Tuesday’s game against Davis, and will face the Layton Lancers.
Bountiful will host Highland and Woods Cross will host Kearns Friday night in Region 6 action.
