Darts sweep Vikings, Wildcats swept in tourney

WOODS CROSS – The Davis Darts baseball team swept the Vikings Friday afternoon at Davis High after picking up a 7-5 win.

At the Snow Canyon Texas Roadhouse Classic, Woods Cross lost three out of four games it played on Friday and Saturday.

Thursday saw the Bountiful Braves crush Highland 13-3.

Darts beat Vikings 7-5, sweep season series

The Davis Darts completed a three-game sweep over rival Viewmont after picking up a 7-5 win over the Vikings Friday afternoon at Davis High School.

Ben Rigby, of Davis, picked up the win on the mound, pitching 6 1/3 innings and striking out seven hitters. 

Dom Fuller and Jake Adams each had an extra base it. Fuller hit a double and Adams knocked a triple.

Woods Cross finishes tournament 1-3

The Woods Cross Wildcats finished the Snow Canyon Texas Roadhouse tournament with a 1-3 overall record.

They lost both games played on Friday and split Saturday’s games. Its only win came against Westlake, a 12-3 victory.

Braves crush Rams, 13-3

Highland scored three runs in the first inning of last Thursday’s game against Bountiful.

The Braves countered by scoring three runs in the second and third innings to tie the game, then scored 10 more the rest of the way to beat the Rams 13-3.

Upcoming games

The Darts and Vikings will continue through Region 1 play with games against Syracuse and Layton, respectively.

Davis will travel to Syracuse to play the Titans. Viewmont will host the Lancers.

Bountiful will make its annual trip to Anaheim, Calif., for the Lions Tournament, which will run through Wednesday, April 2.
