KAYSVILLE – The Davis Darts picked up their first Region 1 win of the season after shutting out Syracuse 4-0 last Thursday.
Viewmont stayed unbeaten after taking down Weber 1-0 in Region 1 play.
In Region 6, Woods Cross picked up its second region win after shutting out Highland 1-0. Bountiful lost its first region game to East, 2-1.
Davis gets first region win, beats Syracuse
The Darts notched their first Region 1 win of the season last Thursday, shutting out Syracuse 4-0 at home.
The Darts scored two goals in each half to pick up the win.
Vikings stay unbeaten after 1-0 shutout win over Weber
Viewmont stayed unbeaten on the season after battling to a 1-0 win over Weber last Thursday at Weber High School.
Lucas Cawley netted the goal for the Vikings in the first half. The goal was his third of the season.
Matt Hansen picked up the assist in the win.
Porter May also got a shutout at the net, his second of the year.
Woods Cross shuts out Highland 1-0, net second region victory
Having to play on the road against a tough team, the Wildcats were able to net a second half goal against Highland and pick up the 1-0 victory at Highland High School.
Chandler Elliott knocked in the only goal of the match in the second half and Taylor Kennard picked up a well-earned shutout at the net for the Wildcats.
Elliott’s goal was his first of the season. Kennard’s shutout was his third overall and second on the road.
The win for Woods Cross is its second in Region 6 play.
Braves lose to Leopards, 2-1
Bountiful lost its first region match of the season last Friday, allowing a pair of second half goals to East in a 2-1 defeat.
All three goals were scored in the second half.
Anthony Ahlstrom scored Bountiful’s only goal in the loss.
Matches this week
Thursday will see Viewmont and Davis continue to battle through Region 1 play.
Viewmont will travel to Fremont High School to face the Silverwolves and Davis will be at home to host Weber at Angel Street Park in Kaysville.
Bountiful will return to action on Friday, April 4 against Highland. Woods Cross will come back to play Tuesday, April 8 against Clearfield.
