BOUNTIFUL – Hazel Dolar, the longest-running client of Zions Bank in Bountiful, was recognized with a gift of $140 as part of the bank’s 140th anniversary.

When Dolar opened a joint checking account, it was 1946. Swing music was in, World War II had recently ended and the economy was strong, a Zions Bank press release said. Dolar and her late husband Dallas were saving for their first home.

Over the years, Dolar has maintained her account with the bank, even as the way banking transactions have changed, the release said.

“From ledgers and tellers to the Internet and smartphones, the pace of banking has never been faster and the scrutiny of the industry never stronger. Yet the goal of Zions Bank remains constant,” said Bountiful Financial Center Manager Chantel Chase.

Zions Bank was incorporated July 6, 1873, and opened its doors on Oct. 3. Today the bank operates 102 full-service centers in Utah and Idaho.
