Having grown up in aisles of St. Louis grocery stores, Carol Hurst lends her knowledge of food paired with friends and family to the Olde Town Spice Shoppe. She has worked for such major food companies as Nabisco, and Thomas J. Lipton Tea Company, as well as consulting roles for Anheuser-Busch, Purina and McDonalds.
Her cooking knowledge was learned by the side of her mother- and expanded upon with her inquisitive nature and exploratory cooking style. She has taught classes for a variety of topics including Canning, Tea, and Spices. Additionally, her tips and recipes can be frequently seen on morning tv segments in St. Louis and in regional publications.
Customers of The Olde Town Spice Shoppe are varied- they are barbequers, chefs/restaurants, bakers, tailgaters, canners, brewmasters, families, and much more. They are interested in the taste and use of spices, including their health benefits. Her slogan of “Make Life Delicious” sums up her nobody-is-a-stranger warmth and renown customer service in the store. The shop sells hundreds of herbs, spices, teas and food products.
